Shaping Future Space Security: Polar Orbital in the EU-Funded BODYGUARD Project

The BODYGUARD Project

Polar Orbital is participating in the European Defence Fund (EDF) initiative BODYGUARD project that kicked off in December 2024.

Backed by €6.48 million from the EDF, the BODYGUARD consortium consists of 12 partner companies from 8 European countries. The project aims at strengthening European sovereignty and strategic autonomy by protecting space-based assets with situational awareness capabilities and counteraction technologies onboard satellites.

With the growth of space technologies and risks, protecting critical European space assets is more crucial than ever. The BODYGUARD project develops ground-breaking building blocks that enable satellites to detect, assess, and counteract threats in real time to enhance European independence and superiority in space.

With expertise in ground segment design, defence, and security, Polar Orbital is committed to designing robust ground systems to support space technologies in a variety of disturbance and threat environments.
